Fine Motor Skills

Each week as part of our writing rotation programme we complete a writing skills activity that helps us to develop our fine motor skills.
We have been strengthening our hands and fingers by using playdough to make/spell out a range of high frequency words or to make features on a person's face.
We have also been practising forming our letter/word of the week in a tray of salt which has a laminated colour sheet underneath. This activity is great for fine motor development and pre-writing skills such as pen grip. Students can practise writing numbers, alphabet letters, sight words, shapes, their name, make patterns and so much more!
